Fiberglass Repair

Affordable Porcelain provides expert fiberglass repair in both fiberglass tubs and stall showers.  Over the years we have repaired more than a thousand units in both homes and apartments.  Those repairs ranged from the repair of small cracks to complete rebuilding and reinforcing of tub bottoms and shower floors.  We not only provide an excellent structural repair, but we also are able to make the repair blend in (in most cases) and appear that the unit has never been repaired. 

Doing fiberglass repairs that are structurally strong and esthetically pleasing consist of equal parts construction and art.  We have always been proud of our repairs and our work reflects that pride.  You will probably be able to find other refinishers that will do a repair cheaper, but we are confident that none will do it better.  

If you have a cracked fiberglass tub or shower and would like to get an estimate to get it repaired there are several things that you will need before you call.

• Note the area of the crack.  Is it on the bottom of the tub, the side of the tub (either inside or outside) or on the curved section between the bottom and side?  It is critical for us to know.
• How many cracks are there and are they close to each other are they?
• How long are the cracks.  Measure each one with a tape measure.  Measure from each end of the crack starting with the point where the crack disappears into the fiberglass and cannot be seen to the opposite end of the crack where it disappears and cannot be seen. 

Note:  If your tub or shower has a crack you should immediately stop using it!  If you continue to use it you may get leakage under the unit and then have it seep into the surrounding wall area.  This could cause other problems for you.  If you are in doubt about whether the crack is leaking, please call us and we would be happy to help you determine if it is.  Remember, using a leaking fixture could cost you thousands in water and dry rot damage.
